This policy explains how Ecoverde Valeting & Detailing Service ("Ecoverde", "we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website, book a valet or contact us. We keep things simple: we only collect what we need to look after you and your car.
1. Who we are
Ecoverde Valeting & Detailing Service is a mobile car valeting and detailing business run by John Muriel as a sole trader. We serve West London, including Brentford (TW8), Ladbroke Grove (W10), Chiswick, Hammersmith, Ealing, Kew, Richmond, Notting Hill, Chelsea and Wimbledon.
For data protection purposes, John Muriel is the data controller.

2. What information we collect
When you book or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The address where you would like us to clean your car
- Your vehicle details, such as make, model, colour and registration number
- Booking details, such as the service you choose, date, time and any notes you give us
- Payment details (these are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us)
- Photos of your vehicle taken before and after our work
- Messages you send us by email, phone, text, WhatsApp or social media
When you visit our website, we may also collect basic technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is collected through cookies (see section 8).
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Take, confirm and manage your booking
- Find your car and carry out the service
- Take payment and send receipts or invoices
- Contact you about your booking, including weather changes and reschedules
- Deal with any questions, complaints or aftercare
- Ask for a review after your service
- Send you offers or updates, only if you have agreed to this
- Improve our website and services
- Meet our legal duties, such as keeping tax records
4. Our legal reasons for using your data
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we must have a lawful reason to use your data. Ours are:
- Contract: we need your details to provide the service you have booked.
- Legal obligation: we must keep certain records, such as for HMRC.
- Legitimate interests: to run and improve our business, handle enquiries and ask for feedback, in ways you would reasonably expect.
- Consent: for marketing messages and for sharing photos of your car online. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Photos of your car
We often take before and after photos to record the condition of your car and the work we have done. We will only share photos on our website, Google Business Profile or social media if you are happy for us to do so. When we share photos, we hide or blur your number plate. Just tell us if you would rather we did not share photos of your car.
6. Who we share your data with
We never sell your personal data. We only share it with trusted services that help us run the business, such as:
- Our online booking system
- Our payment provider
- Email, phone and messaging services
- Our website host and website analytics tools
- Our accountant, for tax and bookkeeping
These providers may only use your data to provide their service to us. We may also share data if the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. When this happens, we make sure suitable protections are in place, as required by UK law.
7. How long we keep your data
- Booking and customer records: up to 6 years after your last booking, to meet tax and legal rules
- Vehicle photos: up to 2 years, unless you have agreed that we can use them in our portfolio
- Marketing contact details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop
- General enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months
After this, we delete your data securely.
8. Cookies
Our website uses cookies. These are small files stored on your device. Some are needed for the website and booking system to work. Others help us understand how people use the site, so we can improve it. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the website working properly.
9. Keeping your data safe
We take care to protect your data. We use secure, password-protected systems and trusted providers, and we only keep the information we need.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your data
- Ask us to limit how we use your data
- Object to us using your data, including for marketing
- Ask us to move your data to another company
